Drawing inspiration from the Bosstone circuit, the Hephaestus started as a tribute to the iconic “Spirit in the Sky” fuzz pedal. It blends NPN and PNP transistors to deliver familiar gain tones, but the real innovation lies in the Warning knob. This control adjusts the circuit’s voltage, enabling a unique analog sub-octave effect around the 1 o’clock position, all while maintaining the classic fuzz clarity that players expect. Fully clockwise (5 o’clock), it produces a traditional fuzz sound, and turning it back reveals richer harmonics and sub-octaves. An internal volume trimmer lets you fine-tune your output, typically requiring little adjustment once dialed in. This pedal is in good condition.
